HERBOTOX CHITIKA
A Powerful Multi-Component Toxin Binder Based on Organic and Inorganic Materials

Mycotoxins are a significant issue in animal and poultry nutrition and husbandry, creating substantial economic, health, and public challenges worldwide. According to annual reports from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), approximately 20% of the agricultural and livestock products produced globally are contaminated with mycotoxins.

To date, around 520 types of fungal toxins have been identified, but only a few are of significant importance due to the amounts found in feed ingredients used in animal and poultry nutrition.

Among the most important of these mycotoxins are aflatoxins, with aflatoxin B1 being the most critical type. Researchers in both developed and developing countries have concluded that aflatoxin B1 is a leading cause of liver cancer, prompting the establishment of permissible levels of this toxin in animal and human feed.

In general, mycotoxins can adversely affect animals, poultry, fish, and even humans. These effects include reduced growth rates, decreased feed intake, increased feed conversion ratios, serious damage to intestinal villi, reduced feed digestion, kidney and liver damage, and the development of fatty liver, among others.

Main Methods for Preventing the Negative Effects of Mycotoxins in Animals, Poultry, and Aquatics
One of the most important methods for preventing the negative effects of mycotoxins is to use feed and water free of any mycotoxins. For this purpose, reliable sources for feed can be utilized, and laboratories can help measure mycotoxin levels. However, due to contamination in the agricultural system (planting, cultivation, and harvest) and storage conditions, this method cannot provide a 100% guarantee in reducing the adverse effects of mycotoxins.

Another method of prevention is the use of strong disinfectants in the breeding environment to treat surfaces. However, the most important and simplest approach is the use of Toxin Binders in the feed. Toxin binders work by binding to fungal toxins, rendering them inactive and allowing for their elimination.

The Role of Toxin Binders
While the use of toxin binders in animal and poultry feed does not have significant nutritional effects, they are considered a physical method of combating mycotoxins. Toxin binders are classified into different types, including mineral binders, organic binders, microorganisms, microbial metabolites, and more.

Chitika’s Herbtox Toxin Binder
Chitika, a company with researchers and experts in the fields of nutrition and microbiology, has developed Herbotox Chitika, a multi-component toxin binder that excels at eliminating feed toxins and improving efficiency in animal and poultry farming.

Herbotox Chitika is made up of various active ingredients such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cell wall, aluminosilicates (bentonite, diatomaceous earth, etc.), live Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast, activated carbon, organic acids, and plant extracts. Compared to both domestic and international products, Herbotox Chitika performs exceptionally in absorbing different toxins and covers nearly all types of feed toxins due to its diverse composition.

One of the remarkable features of Herbotox Chitika is its resistance to the acidic environment of the digestive tract. Its formulation ensures it does not bind to minerals and vitamins in the feed, maintaining their availability to the animal.

Herbotox Chitika Benefits:

  • Absorbs and eliminates feed mycotoxins
  • Reduces microbial load in milk
  • Improves fertility in breeder flocks
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Enhances egg production in laying hens
  • Reduces susceptibility to infectious diseases

Mycotoxins Targeted by Herbotox Chitika:
Herbotox Chitika has exceptional properties in absorbing fungal toxins like aflatoxin, ochratoxin, zearalenone, fumonisin, deoxynivalenol, trichothecenes, and others. Its results in experimental tests have demonstrated superior toxin absorption, matching or surpassing leading international brands.

Usage Recommendations and Dosage:

  • Calves: 8g per head per day
  • Heifers: 12-18g per head per day
  • Early lactation cows: 12-18g per head per day
  • Mid to late lactation cows: 18-35g per head per day
  • Finishing calves: 10-25g per head per day
  • Sheep and goats: 5-10g per head per day
  • Poultry: 0.5-3g per head per day
  • Aquatics: 1-3kg per ton of feed
  • Horse (foals): 15g per head per day
  • Adult horses: 30g per head per day

In cases of stress, the dosage can be increased 1.5 to 2 times under veterinary guidance.
