Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast consumes oxygen in the rumen, stimulating the growth of cellulolytic bacteria, which are highly anaerobic. This helps maintain optimal rumen acidity, preventing subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA) and enhancing enzymatic activity in the digestive system, thus improving feed digestibility.

Live Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast consumes free oxygen in the rumen through respiration, creating an anaerobic environment that is ideal for rumen metabolism. Low oxygen levels in the rumen are a key factor in determining rumen microbial activity.

Improved microbial activity in the rumen enhances the digestion of starch and cellulose, leading to more efficient nutrient utilization and increased production of volatile fatty acids.
