AboutBentomax Chitika

Mycotoxins are an important issue in the nutrition and breeding of livestock and poultry, causing significant economic, health, and public problems worldwide. According to reports published annually by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), around twenty percent of agricultural and livestock products produced globally are contaminated with mycotoxins.

To date, about 520 types of fungal toxins have been identified by researchers, but only a small number of them are significant based on the amounts found in animal feed.

One of the most important mycotoxins is aflatoxins, with aflatoxin B1 being the most significant.

Researchers in both developed and developing countries have concluded that the fungal toxin aflatoxin B1 is one of the primary factors causing liver cancer in these regions, and as such, they have set permissible levels for these mycotoxins in animal and human feed.

In general, mycotoxins can affect livestock, poultry, aquaculture, and even humans, with effects such as reduced growth rates, decreased feed intake, increased feed conversion ratios, severe damage to intestinal villi, reduced feed digestibility, kidney and liver damage, fatty liver disease, and more.

The most important methods to prevent the harmful effects of mycotoxins in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture:

One of the primary methods for preventing the harmful effects of mycotoxins is to use feed and water sources free from any mycotoxins. For this purpose, feed can be sourced from reliable places and mycotoxin levels can be measured using certified laboratories. However, due to contamination in agricultural systems (planting, maintenance, and harvesting) and storage, this method cannot be relied upon for a 100% reduction in the harmful effects of mycotoxins.

Another preventive measure is the use of strong disinfectants in the breeding environment for surface areas. However, the most important and simplest method is to use toxin binders in feed. Toxin binders attach to fungal toxins, rendering them inactive and facilitating their elimination.

Although the presence of toxin binders in livestock and poultry feed does not have significant nutritional effects, their use as toxin absorbers is considered a physical method to counter mycotoxins. Toxin binders are categorized into mineral binders, organic binders, microorganisms, microbial metabolites, and more.

Bentonites, due to their chemical structure, have a high ability to absorb, bind, and neutralize mycotoxins. Research has shown that the use of calcium and sodium bentonites reduces aflatoxin residue in the milk of dairy cows.

Diatomaceous earth, used as a toxin binder, has shown potential to bind with certain mycotoxins (aflatoxin, trichothecenes, zearalenone, and ochratoxin) in laboratory conditions.

Activated charcoal is another widely used option for binding mycotoxins. It has shown to reduce aflatoxin residues in the milk and meat of dairy cows. Activated charcoal has the ability to absorb mycotoxins several times its weight. However, unprocessed charcoal can form bonds with vitamins and minerals, rendering them unavailable to livestock and poultry. This issue can be addressed by processing the product.

Live yeast and yeast cell walls are important compounds used as toxin binders. The yeast cell walls are made up of beta-glucans and mannooligosaccharides. Mannooligosaccharides can bind with certain mycotoxins (aflatoxin B1, ochratoxin, zearalenone, and trichothecenes).

Plant compounds, due to their antioxidant, antifungal, antimicrobial, and antiviral properties, are also considered effective options as toxin binders in livestock and poultry feed.

Given that the nature and chemical structure of mycotoxins differ, using a combination of different toxin binders in the feed can be more effective.

Chitika Company, composed of experts and researchers in the fields of nutrition and microbiology, has pioneered the production of the multi-component toxin binder Bentomax Chitika, which helps remove mycotoxins from feed and increases productivity in livestock and poultry farming.

Bentomax Chitika is composed of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cell walls, aluminosilicates (bentonite, diatomaceous earth, etc.), live Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast, activated carbon, organic acids, and more. Compared to similar foreign and domestic products, Bentomax Chitika excels in absorbing various mycotoxins and, thanks to its diverse components, covers almost all mycotoxins in animal feed.

Another feature of Bentomax Chitika is its resistance to the acidic conditions of the digestive tract. The formulation of the multi-component toxin binder Bentomax Chitika includes compounds that do not bind with minerals and vitamins. Given its outstanding benefits and high quality, Bentomax Chitika is a highly cost-effective product.

Various studies have been conducted to examine the effects of Bentomax Chitika toxin binder in the nutrition of livestock, poultry, and aquaculture, with findings published in reputable international journals and conferences.

The high quality of Bentomax Chitika toxin binder has made it a special export product.
